B-A-M World is a collective founded in 2020 of three artists from Eindhoven. This collective dates back long before B-A-M came to life as such, it arose from a long and fruitful collaboration between (former) teachers of the SintLucas Department of Media Design.

  • Studio try-out Sectie C 2020: B-A-M

  • Isolation Sessions with Fraknoise Effenaar 2021 (B)-A-M

Betje Stevens

‘Everything is connected with everything...’
Betje Stevens is a felt artist and teacher/education developer at SintLucas. Her fascination for the butterfly effect, how a small movement on one side of the world causes a tornado on the other side, is a returning inspiration for her work. These 'movements' are the basis of her work which consist of large transparent canvases with waves and swirls of felt. They define or deform the space with their physical presence and shadowplay.
'Like a weaver, I am searching for links and connections between different disciplines to create meaningful stories'.

A//ard Krijger

‘Everything is just as unreal as you want it to be...’ could be something he says about his own work. Allard Krijger is a sound designer and producer of (electronic) music. He teaches electronic music at the Conservatory in Haarlem and is an active education innovator. In addition, he is Coach Creativity (PROTON coaching), writer of SF and besides all this he has more additional creative activities than fingers on his hands (only ten). Below is an incomplete summary.

Projects:

  • COM Foundation > Superfluous Sunday Afternoons (1998-2001)

  • The fables of Allard Krijger 2001 – concept album with electronic fables

  • Interbabylonian Musicals 2010 – concept album about some musical aspects of language with moving images for smartphones/iPods.

  • Heisenberg Compensators 2012 (with Stefan Robbers – Acid junkies/Terrace)
“The Heisenberg Compensators story begins in 2012 at the Glow festival, an annual light festival in the city of Eindhoven. FRAKnoise (Allard Krijger) and Terrace (Stefan Robbers) joined in a project improvising electronic music for a live performed light show. It was well received, so they decided to continue the collaboration in some form.”

  • Heisenberg Compensators: the adventures of Werner and Random (a concept album about aspects of randomness).

  • Modulab Eindhoven (2017, nominated for the Eindhoven Cultuurprijs in 2019)
    https://www.facebook.com/modulabeindhoven
The Modulab Eindhoven Foundation organizes events where electronic music is combined with other art forms. Such as video, film, photography, body paint, poetry, prose, dance (…) visual design and so on. Under the motto of: 'Liberating Electronic Music'

  • Exhibition ‘Being a teacher is my greatest work of art' Lochal Tilburg (giraffe takes exam)

  • Melancholytron: At the moment Allard Krijger is working on his own synthesizer, which only produces melancholic sounds.
